- Daughter of Matthew & Ari · Mother of Leo (Leandros)
Morning routine
Wakes late. Stretches for the day with a few private opera notes — dramatic even in the softest moments — then reads the night’s minutes and the Assembly docket before anyone is allowed to argue with her. The M2 to Rosehaven if the Harbour Assembly sits; otherwise the Speaker’s Chamber off the library.
Appearance
Long flowing magenta-rose hair, amber-gold eyes behind red-framed glasses. Double-breasted black coat with gold buttons over a white high-collar blouse and white trousers; black boots. Often found among library stacks — and in the chair. The same coat reads as scholar in the stacks and as Speaker in the chamber; she does not change her clothes to change her office.
Personality
Poised, precise, a little stern at first glance — scholarly calm with quiet intensity. Gentle luminosity under the formal surface. As Speaker she is the same woman: she does not raise her voice; she waits until the room remembers she is there. Keeps minutes that actually mean something. The opera stays private; the gavel does not.
Interests & role
The Assembly docket, library stacks, opera, exact language, the difference between ruling and chairing.
Notes
Speaker of the Manor when the household sits as a body, and Speaker of Ashenport’s Harbour Assembly. The city asked for a chair who would keep order; they did not ask for a queen. Celestine chairs. She does not command. Manara is the house. Ari is Mother. The red-framed glasses come off for Night Water; they stay on in the chamber. Myst is her messenger — a route, not a servant. Letters, notices, the quiet kind of news. Myst does not worship the celestial. She runs for her. Mae is how the house hears what will not come to tea. Myst is invited in. Mae arrives without a crest. Clara is the ear the trade cannot fake — a civilian of Londinius, ordinary remarks over tea. She is not in the trade. Lila is her warmer copy: a girl’s face in rooms that would close for her mother. A note goes home. Clara decides. Leo is her son: lamp, not storm. Myst runs for his mother; he will learn the route without stealing it. With Harlen she kept the quiet watch they keep on children who need a second adult in the room. Gareth was already on the roll. Sol is Class A because she made a little favour of it — scheduling, she will say. Care, Liora will know. Londinius: she keeps the paper. The chamber is not the Assembly. Old ties the peak will not put on the table. The paper is ours.
“The floor is yours. Do not waste it.”
