- Adopted by asking · Yard-son of Seraph · No blood to Matthew · No claim on the inner court
Morning routine
Back at dawn. Steel first. Breakfast if anyone can make him sit. The Academy bell after. Does not clap.
Appearance
Brown hair, practical short cut. Blue eyes — just eyes. Working build from the yard. Greys on purpose. Black is Seraph’s colour; he will not wear it as if he owns her. Rapier. Skilled, not showy. Point and measure.
Personality
Ashenport first. Streets, then the kind of fostering that is not cruel and still wears you out: new table, new rules, same bag. The city is kind. Kind is not the same as his. He walked to the Manor because he wanted a place that did not talk. He watched Seraph finish a form and did not clap. When the steel was down he asked, plainly, if she would teach him to fight like that. She said yes. He came back at dawn. That is the paper.
Powers
Rapier. Skilled, not showy. Point and measure. No wings. No vow-light. Work.
Interests & role
The yard. Dawn forms. A place that does not talk. Standing behind Seraph, not beside her as an heir.
Notes
Fiftieth. Already on the Academy roll. Harlen and Celestine kept the quiet watch they keep on children who need a second adult in the room. Lives where students and blades live. Eats with the house. Veyra was there the day it started. She will never let him forget it. Silas has the blood-and-blade seat. Gareth has work. Not kitchen. Not Court. The side door is unlatched.
“I only asked if she would teach me.”
