The meeting

Second M2 run of the day, last meadows before Ashenport station. Inner court and children aboard. It appeared already in judgement. First strike aimed at the M2’s boilers. No parley. Presence felt before the bolt. White lightning on the engine. Matthew, Ari, and Silas on their feet together; the bolt warped into deep space. Train unharmed. Children covered by the rest of the inner court. Ariette’s cosmic portrait and Silas’s future-portrait remained hanging through the fight.

Appearance

Vast. White. Blue eyes. White lightning distinct from Voltara’s cyan. Multi-head posture implied by “one head.” Banished rather than slain; body dissolved back to its own dimension when the chest-gate was forced. No corpse. Glass scar in the meadow.

Manner

Uninvited. Already in judgement. No parley. Firing on the family engine is the whole of its opening. Not a guest. Not a posting. A test of the house in transit, not a war.

The spar

Rook and Zephir took dragon-form immediately and climbed. Yue and Sable scaled with them. Matthew, Ari, and Silas held the high line so no second bolt could find city or rails. Zephir coiled and spoiled the titan’s aim. Rook punched a head, twice. Yue iced the wings and stole the lightning’s weather. Sable bound a jaw in dark. Matthew opened the cosmos inside the chest; Ari and Silas matched the strike. The four pressed. Sable’s final blow was her own fire — dark at the core. The titan roared, thinned, and left.
