Matthew’s back to the painter — the stay, not the face. Harbour dusk. Lanterns. Boats that are not Charcoal. She lives in Vespera. She visits when shown the door. Ideal first date: siphon coffee, then a slow walk somewhere new. This is the walk. She will hug you and roast you for being obvious in the same breath. Tonight she is only hugging.
