Appearance
True mermaid. Tail, never legs. Deep harbour-blue tail shading to black at the fluke; working fins, not costume fins. Gills at throat and ribs. Forearm fins. Pale luminous skin above the waist. Long wet dark hair with phosphor gleam. Radiant, unsmiling-beautiful face. Glowing deep blue lamp-eyes — light from under a keel. No crown. No shell jewellery.
Personality
Rare on purpose. Local. Not shy — uncollectable. Respects competence. Ignores performance. Greets Solene as water greets water, then leaves. Notices Kaia’s hull and does not make a scene. Does not come when the house is curious.
Powers
The harbour’s depth more than a guest in it. Current, hush under hulls, a wake that is not weather. Seen when the water decides.

Name from the old word for sea: lir, the depth other names come out of. Classic Nami refused as too easy. Lir is one beat a skipper can mutter when the channel goes wrong. Ashenport’s small spirit — sister in function to Manara, Briar, Moroz, Loza, and Viva, never a copy. Manara keeps the rooms. Lir takes the wet stone. Briar takes the high garden. Moroz begins at Morozsk’s wall. Loza begins on Gerrido’s step. Viva begins wherever Vespera is busy. Archive: one underwater glimpse, one reference plate. No hearth portrait. Not kitchen. Not Court. Not a granddaughter number. Slifer is ignored unless he touches harbour.
